"My friend," she cried on in the darkness from the haven of her bedroom balcony, " I wonder about you. Are you staying loyal to me or are you ready to strike me from behind once I'm out of sight?"
The owl answered her with a cry as it swooped from its perch and grasp its talons unexpectedly on the ground.
"My friend," she continued to cry. "The question really is, what do I mean to you? Am I someone you can confide in or am I a pawn in one of your many games?"
Out in the distance a pack of wolves watch from a platform around the clearing and watched one of their own fight against the enemy.
"My friend," she cried with tears rolling down her cheeks. " Will you come to me when I need you? Will you warn me when trouble is brewing?"
From the hills a huge dark cloud quickly rolls into the town. The forest was quiet as were the streets and every house. Thunder roared and lighting struck as she cried out once more. " My Friend, I trusted you and I always will. I will always be loyal to you and My Friend, I hope that you do the same."
With that as her last breath, she welcomed the darkness and let it envelope her.
