The first batch. Point of no return.
Today is suppose to be a productive day. There the project that I have to do for my second semester of Accounting. Then there's the Microeconomics paper and presentation that I have to do research for. I have my Final Lab exam to study for and actually do the lab booklet for Anatomy and Physiology. Yes, today is suppose to be a productive day. Not only do I have things to do for class but I have stuff for church to work on. The website needs to be updated, the Maudy Thursday announcement is suppose to be beautified on Photoshop, or in my case, Paint editor. The Kids Choir is singing so I have to retype their song sheets cause the print is to small and I have some misspelled words. I have yet to practice reading the scripture that I am suppose to read. It's from the book of John and it's about Martha's conversation with Jesus because Lazarus died and Jesus didn't save him. I'm suppose to be busy and my chores aren't even on the list!

Batter on the tray
That wasn't actually the case for today. I was selectively productive. I reinstalled all of my programs back on Annie. I transferred back all of my files back to where they belong and not in the recycling bin. I replied to some emails and I straightened up my desk. I made a sketch of what the tri-fold board is suppose to look like for VA 21 and I also did an updated sketch of what the board looked like. I started part of my laundry, meaning some of my shirts are soaking in the bin and I have yet to actually do anything with it. Hmm, what else have I done. Oh! I talked to a new friend of mine and wondered how she was doing. It was a weird awkward but not awkward conversation at the same time. And I took a nap. The nap was pretty important. My right eye kept on twitching so I took it as a sign for me to take a nap.

1st batch, F for FAIL
Naps are super awesome but when I woke up from my nap I had the sudden urge to bake. Baking is suppose to be fun and possibly relaxing. This time, baking was confusing and actually frustrating. I'm trying out a new recipe that I said a while ago that I was going to do: Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies. I got the recipe while I was Stumbling, it's super amazing by the way. Anyway, I got the recipe and I figured might as well try it. So that's what I did, I tried to make Bacon Chocolate Chip Cookies. I thought that I was fine and doing everything right until I got all of the ingredients mixed and the oven preheated. When I had scooped it out to the baking tray, I thought the consistency was a bit off but I didn't think anything of it. I put the first batch in the oven and set the timer for 10 minutes. I started to put the jar of flour away when it shifted. I thought that it was a bit odd. I opened the jar and I got some on my fingers, the texture was off. Then I had the great idea of tasting it, it was confectioner's sugar. -_- I looked at the two trays of cookies that I had in the oven and whoa. It totally did not look like cookies. There was the clumps of chocolate chips and the bits of bacon where I had set them and all over the tray was the melted sugar. Great. The ten minutes wasn't finished yet, so I figured might as well let it finish cooking.

2nd batch, clumps.
Now, my mom decides to call me and I tell her all about the fiasco. She then tells me, "The jar on the bottom shelf isn't flour. Your dad put the confectioner's sugar in there." Wow, thanks for letting me know after I discovered that. Oh well, I take out the "cookies" and oddly enough, they formed a backwards F. F for FAIL! I really wanted to make legit cookies though, so I figured, I still had enough of a mixture to make cookies with. The batter just had 3 cups of some kind of sugar in it. I figured putting actual flour in it wasn't really going to hurt. I added a cup of flour and a huge spoonful and mixed it up. It was a bit discouraging when the batter wouldn't actually mix and formed weird clumps. I put the clumps in two baking sheets and again, hoped for the best. I continue to clean up and get everything ready for the third try. After all, third times a charm, right?

3rd batch, yay cookies!!
After 10 minutes, the cookies were done and surprisingly they looked and tasted okay. Despite that, I still wanted to make them right. I got the correct ingredients and they were all measured correctly. I followed the steps and double checked so I would get this right. Plus, I was on the last few strips of bacon and I did not want to have to walk to the store in the dark and in the rain just to get a pack of bacon for cookies when I could have just made chocolate chip cookies. So, I got it all mixed and onto the baking sheets. The oven was preheating and I tossed them in. I waited 10 more minutes hoping that it's all going to turn out all right and guess what? It did! :D
Yay for a baking adventure! Sunday is just gonna suck though. Chores and homework to do. Curse you selective productivity!! *shakes fist*
