Wow, totally forgot to post but it's whatever. Thursday was the ballad and that was kinda hard to teach. The kids don't like slow songs at all. I ended up taking out some of the motions when I taught it to the older kids, so then I had to take out the same motions when I taught the younger kids. Friday was another upbeat song with a "rap." On both days, I was getting tired of the kids and I definitely showed it. I snapped at a couple of them which was eh, whatever. It's not the first time and it definitely won't be the last. Sir taught the kids on Friday and I stood on the side and watched. :) I smiled, pretty much the whole time. He made them laugh and he got them to follow the song. It made me realize that I should explain the song better. I'll save that for next year.. Or.. Sir could just teach it next year. :D Or another option is that I don't do VBS next year.
Thursday night the kids all sang on the stage and pretty much made their parents smile at how adorable they are. I led the motions from the balcony. The excuse was we were short handed for sound. The real reason, I did not want to be up on the stage at all. Family night is for the parents so the kids should lead the rally. It was weird to have all the kids up on the stage. You could tell who was more into it and who really learned the motions and stuffs. The little kids just love it and the older kids, are.. the older kids. I'm waaay to cool to be doing this. I realized yesterday, that I assume waaay to much with the older kids. That they should know this or that they should know that. Also, they depend on Ben and Jeffery when it comes to really knowing anything Biblical. The youth group did do that too, but it was when it came to praying. We always Voluntold, Big-Big Brother Kadisi to pray.
Friday during the rally was kinda good and kinda bad. I had the kids come up on stage by class based on their fave song. The older kids really made it hard cause they don't like the songs which I've already given up on getting them to like anything. The third and fourth graders, I love them and everything but they ARE ANNOYING!! There are other kids in VBS they need to have a turn on being on the stage. The little kids are just adorable as always.
